Researchers Sanford DeVoe of the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and Jeffrey Pfeffer of Stanford University in California Study state that people paid by the hour less likely to be involved in a volunteer work because they tend to develop a "time-is-money mentality" that can prevent them from spending time on charity work.
