The term "Management Dashboard" defines a wide range of data reporting and visualization tools or dashboards that allow using various performance & efficiency measures to report on an enterprise’s ability to organize and coordinate its activities in accordance with certain policies and in achievement of pre-determined objectives.
Management dashboard is a decision making tool that allows managers to view high-level performance reports which can be drilled down into detail. It helps understand performance bottlenecks, develop corrective actions and forecast future performance.
Management dashboard displays performance & efficiency reports that highlight the key areas of a company’s activity, including administration, marketing, sales, purchasing, production, development, and others. For each of the areas, the dashboard visualizes the performance and effect of various factors, including people, machines, materials, and money. Here are some examples:
- Sales: conversion rate per salesperson; total revenue generated from the sale of products
- Production: number of machines per working area; types of raw materials consumed to produce a given product
- Development: number of benefits to the customer achieved with a new product; necessary modification applied to an existing product.
