What is Schedule Network Analysis

Schedule Network Analysis is a technique used by project managers to create the project schedule. This technique can be described as generating a graphical representation of all the project tasks and logical relationships between them (how they relate to one another) within the project management plan. This method includes identifying early and late start and finish dates of the project activities (this is required to define project schedule slack – possible float time of tasks). The graphical view that you need to construct is called a schedule network diagram. 

Schedule network diagram is a graph that visually depicts a specific manner in which all the tasks on your project schedule are going to happen and how they are linked to each other. By creating a schedule network diagram you can display interdependencies between the tasks of your project. In other words it is a detailed report showing how and when you are going to execute every next step of your project (an event chain that demonstrates how the project schedule activities string together). Schedule network template is a standardized model of the schedule diagram, which is accepted in certain organization to speed up the process of schedule network diagram development (development of networks of project schedule activities).
