Project management structure template is used when organization elaborates a standardized style of managing its projects, so that there would be no need to reassemble the team each time when a new typical work arises, but everyone can quickly jump into his responsibilities without repetitive and senseless paper operations. Such an approach can minimize efforts of the organizational management in order of preparing necessary documentation, as instead of re-inventing everything from the beginning, some sample baseline project structure can be mildly modified and applied to new conditions. Sample project management structure chart (project management pattern) can be comprised of the following elements:

  • matrix of working activities (WBS) explaining how the project  tasks, responsibilities, and functions are allocated over the project team on a tree-like hierarchy of project tasks, including task groups, project stages, etc (there could be several different types of WBS including function-oriented, team-oriented, etc);
  • diagram of the Project Team showing the:
    •  Project Roles and their managerial interrelations (who is a superior and who is a subordinate);
    •  Structure of reporting (whom reports to whom);
    •  Specific project staffing document assigning Roles to specific persons;

  • analyze results to know if your project meets the plan;
