Project management scorecard is a kind of project reports which show different important project characteristics, parameters and indicators in a summarized manner, representing them as a calculated “score” by some project matters – tasks, stages, employees, policies, etc. Project management balanced scorecard is a multi-level report that shows different matters in a balanced (interrelated) manner. For example you may need to know how many typical tasks were completed during the month in certain department, so you need to get a spreadsheet showing a number of tasks completed per period, along with a number per each department employee (individual productivity). Traditionally templates are composed by the project managers and filled up with essential pieces of information, but today there are different programs which allow composing project management scorecards, using for example spreadsheets with formulas, such as VIP Task Manager.

The scorecard example is represented on the screenshot – with its help you can see the share (percentage) of tasks completed on-time, before the due date, and after the due date (procrastinated).

For effective managing your project – do the following:

start PM software;
organize your project on the Task Tree view;
plan and schedule your project tasks in terms of their time, costs, etc;
assign tasks to employees and track their performance;
analyze results (score) via using Filters, Footers, Custom Fields to know if your project meets the plan;
