Time Management on Projects

Time management in project planning is critically important as it allows completing the work on-time, without delays on delivering project’s results, or any mismanagement that causes fails on meeting the contracted obligations and matching the project milestones. This practice includes estimating the project’s timeframe in terms of smaller tasks & stages, scheduling tasks on calendar, composing timeline of results, tasks, objectives, and deliverables, and establishing control over the schedules and calculating working time of manpower, equipment, etc. Time management in tracking is necessary to ensure on-time completion of all these elements, and meeting other time-related obligations that were stated in the contract. Usually performing of the time management by workforce managers is reasoned by certain directions as sometimes time can be a priority for completion, and if it impossible to deliver project on-time as the initial plan requires, then trade-offs on other constraints are possible (costs, quality, scope). Time management reports are regularly composed, collected and analyzed by the project managers in order to know the real situation, and this function can be facilitated and performed with a help of special software such as one represented below:
