Working Group Approach as an Effective Way

Briefly about the working group approach
Most large projects are based on the working group approach. This approach entails creation of one or multiple working groups in which the members closely cooperate with each other inside a group but not with members in other working groups. The leaders of every working group manage the members of a particular group only. The project manager gets reports from the group leaders, analyzes obtained results per working group and makes global decisions on the project. The working groups approach allows to focus each working people group on specific jobs and tasks within a large project, avoiding any clutter and making task tracking easier.

Reasons why to work in group
You may make your choice in favor of work groups rather than working individually for many reasons. Here are some main reasons why group works may give better practical and learning experience:

  • In joint working group an employee can easier learn each working group member's knowledge and better understanding learning materials
  • In working people group the employee can also better understand personal strengths. For example, while being in work groups, the employee may find that he is a great translator but his oral language skills do not allow him to become a good interpreter.
  • Joint working group is good for motivation. Work in group forces the employee to be responsible for and responsive to others, so he will do more and better jobs on large work groups projects
  • Work in group helps keep the group always focused on working because each employee gets harder to procrastinate tasks when being involved in a joint working group of people
  • Working people group is a great basis for project collaboration. In any business collaborative work in group is the norm rather than exception.

Using the working group approach in VIP Task Manager
The best way to implement the working groups approach in practice is to use VIP Task Manager. The software allows to create common database and provide each group member with a personalized login access. VIP Task Manager is like a work group bridge that unites the project members via Internet connection or/and local network. You can use such a work group bridge even if you need to unite employees located in different countries and continents
. You don't have to worry about a project database security and accessibility to project information, because VIP Task Manager allows to locate the database file on remote, protected server machine and to configure user permissions to tasks and related information. The work group bridge saves all changes of project information in the database file once they appear. The members of different working groups can work independently, and the project manager can watch all project changes in real time.
