Project time tracking sheet is an effective tool for recording time-related project matters such as tasks, objectives and project deliverables. Actually, the point of applying any worksheets in business includes the following benefits provided by these tools:

  • Tracing out the constraints (start and finish dates) for different project elements (tasks, milestones, stages, etc) to get aware when these target dates or deadlines are coming up;
  • Setting out daytime agenda of employees, business managers or resources (daily time tracking sheet with appointments, tasks and workloads);
  • Calculating time left before start and finish dates of these elements (in order to get prepared as appropriate);
  • Checking-off completed tasks, passed milestones, reached objectives, and marking out dates of their actual completion (to compare actual time against pre-planned one);
  • Calculating working hours of employees and equipment (to prevent mistaken overtimes, and for accounting wages/rent/amortization reasoning from time they worked);

There are different examples of effective software which provides electronic agendas as a part of their functionality to manage employees, projects, business tasks, etc. The first example of such a tool coming to mind is time tracking Excel sheet (you can download a lot of paid and free templates for MS Excel from the Web) which provides a time tracking spreadsheet template to list down your project tasks, however, this tool is not very convenient when you try to arrange multiuser collaboration (for example, if you want to share one project time tracking sheet between multiple project participants via your local network or the Internet).
