Project management execution is a project phase which defines time frames required for executing tasks and procedures to achieve project objectives and produce project deliverables. It is also a process which consists of flows of actions and jobs required for meeting objectives and goals according to roles, responsibilities and authorities of team members. The process is a control reference to development of project work. During the process , an emphasis should be placed on close communication and collaboration between project participants in order to make decisions as quickly as possible if problems arise. Thus, any project can be accelerated by defining a dynamic and regularly updated document which is called " PM execution plan".

Plan is the core document for managing projects. It is a statement of tasks, procedures and policies defined by project manager and approved by project sponsor. The phase plan determines project scope, objectives and priorities in a structured format.

During the rocess , procedures for controlling and recording project activities become indispensable tools to project executors, managers and other participants involved in current project. These tools allow achieving the following two goals:

  • To keep records of PM activities , including monitoring financial transactions and resource consumption. Record keeping gives managers and team a fair indication of project progress and problems associated with current project.
  • To control the course and implementation, including identifying deviations from the plan and suggesting possible areas for cost saving.

At the end of the phase, project performance should be reviewed in order to determine whether it fits requirements specified in project management execution plan . The mentioned tools can be used to assess current status of schedule , staffing, deliverables, risks, and issues. Assessments will be included in the final report .
