What is quality management?

For any business the more important thing than money is a source of money - consumers which are interested in high quality of products, best price, qualified service, quick time of execution of the order and so on, thus better satisfaction of costumers needs is highest priority for any company. All these things are directly related with quality management system, so the enterprise top-management has only one way that will make company successful - to work at quality. International Organization for Standardization has elaborated a lot of special standards which expound how to organize business processes. The head of a company (general director, president) should create, lead and improve the business environment according to international standards (ISO).

Every modern enterprise should have quality management service (department) under supervision of a company head. Quality management department should gather information and find out issues that make business processes ineffective and designate the ways to solve this problems, ways to optimize these processes to make them more productive. The head of a company is the person who can systematically solve the questions related to all business-processes and that's why he/she have to be in charge of quality management system.

Quality management system has simple hierarchy, it consist of 3 levels:

  • Company head
  • The responsible representative of a management for quality
  • Internal auditors.

Internal auditors are employees with special status and special education, who gather necessary information, examine staff in order to find defects in their work and to find out ways to eliminate these defects.

The responsible representative of company management for quality is a person from company top-management who prepares the report on basis of internal audit results. Director studies this report, analyzes effectiveness of quality management system and find out methods of improving.

How can software be used in quality management system?

There are a lot of international standards that regulate various business processes. To manage enterprise according to all quality standards is not an easy task and quality managers cannot keep all quality problems in their minds, but they should distribute this function between all personnel. For this purpose it is necessary to create quality management system in which people will co-operate with each other without direct intervention of a company top-management.
