Prosecution of cases in courts and litigation management


Planning tasks for litigation management
This function can be successfully maintained by collaborative efforts of the legal staff members. Case prosecution and litigation management are the basis of successful department functioning. The litigation management Lawyers are the people responsible for managing litigation, claims and other legal matters which impact the company, its subsidiaries and employees. Law Department Manager works closely with Lawyers to plan tasks and activities concerned litigation and case prosecution. Manager outlines litigation goals, strategic planning, execution of plans and cost control by effectively delivering desired litigation results. To plan tasks and activities of Lawyers and Paralegals, Department Manager can use VIP Task Manager.

This system provides Legal department with litigation management solution that includes the capabilities necessary for cost-effective managing of the process related to responding to claims and drafting counter-claims. In Calendar view of VIP Task Manager Department Manager can create agendas for meetings with Lawyers and use task start/finish date to outline the schedule of judicial sittings. Tasks for litigation management can be also prioritized by using Priority column, so Lawyers and Paralegals will know the order of claims to be considered in courts.

Tracking tasks for litigation management
When Law department is involved in litigation and prosecution processes, Lawyers with assistance of Paralegals take care of claims and all legal points in order to provide the company with an effective legal protection in courts. Throughout the judicial sittings, Manager of Legal department always keeps track of task performance of the legal staff members. Task tracking can be easily done by using VIP Task Manager. Information about current task statuses, litigation problems, meetings, schedules and legal issues can be transmitted to Department Manager by using Notifications Panel and Comment Panel. For example, Lawyer can use Comment Panel to discuss some points of customer claim with Manager.VIP Task Manager updates all tasks and related information in real time, so the system will immediately communicate with Manager once Lawyer leaves task comments.

Reporting tasks for litigation management
Law department has an intensive workflow which always should be under control of Manager to prevent procrastinations and overdue claims. The way Department Manager can control and analyze the workflow is task reporting. Reports allow to get summarized information about tasks related to litigation and case management.

For example, Lawyers who participated in judicial sittings should provide a report that summarizes the status of their tasks and caseload to Department Manager by the last Friday of June. Manager can use information in the Lawyer's reports in order to prepare accumulated department report for the Board Meetings. By using VIP Task Manager, Lawyers can build task status report that includes such important information about litigation and case prosecution as claim due dates, responsible Lawyers, start/finish dates of judicial sittings, history of all task changes, and other information. Head of Law department can use VIP Task Manager reports to create accumulated department report and represent it in agenda for the Board Meetings.
